COMMUNITY - "Youth Rodeo Athletes Honored at LJRA Awards Banquet"

TREMONTON - January 3, 2023

Future rodeo stars from Box Elder County and throughout northern Utah participating in Utah's Legacy Junior Rodeo Association (LJRA) gathered together at the Box Elder County fairgrounds in Tremonton for their annual banquet held November 15, where a special guest was in attendance to help present the awards.

The Legacy Junior Rodeo Association held in Tremonton holds 10 rodeos per season, gives 16 all-around saddles, several buckles and thousands of dollars back to the future of rodeo per year. It is a non-profit association for the youth with 250 members joining each year. Visit their website at ljrautah.com for more information.

Rusty Wright, a highly acclaimed saddle bronc rider in Utah and throughout the country and a 5-time Wrangler National Finals Rodeo qualifier from Milford, Utah, was a presenter at the awards banquet. Wright, a two-time National High School Finals Rodeo champion (2012 and 2013) happily posed with fans of all ages for pictures during the event.

The Legacy Junior Rodeo Association, "strives to keep western heritage alive by bringing regional recognition to the sport of rodeo for youth, ages 6 through 15," according to their website HOME | LJRA Utah. "In addition, the LJRA works to promote the utmost level of conduct and sportsmanship, foster relationships between its participants, while increasing and maintaining interest in the sport of rodeo."
