DANIEL CURTIS
Daniel Curtis, a senior at Bear River High School, is this week’s Headliner Athlete of the Week for the 2020 Bear River boys’ cross-country team.
On August 25, at Sky View High School, Daniel took first place individually.
“Daniel ran a great tactical race and really had an amazing last mile,” said Coach Dan Line. “The weather was tough and the team trained through the race. We were tired to begin with but Daniel really poured it on to get the first individual win of the season for the Bears and to help lead the boys’ varsity team to their first victory also.”
“His coaches are also pleased with his work ethic and leadership and the fun he brings to the team,” added Line.
Daniel is the son of Alex and Jenny Curtis of Garland.
MADISON WHITE
This year, Bear River High School senior Madison White, has dominated on the cross-country course in pre-season races for the 2020 season.
Madison recently took second place in two meets and is close to meeting her personal record goal time.
“Madi has had a great summer of extra work and has high goals not only for region and state, but throughout the season. She is looking for her first individual win of the season and will have another go at it this upcoming Friday at the Top of Utah Invitational,” said Coach Dan Line.
“Madi is a great leader and draws others into her work ethic and team spirit. She is super coachable and a friend to all,” added Line.
Madison is the daughter of Jared and Kim White of Tremonton.
