COMMUNITY - "Box Elder 'Not Fair' Goat Showmanship competition shines in the arena"

The Box Elder “Not Fair” Goat Showmanship Show was held Wednesday, August 25, 2020, in Riverside. Participants in the 2020 Box Elder Jr. Livestock goat program were given the opportunity to compete in a private showmanship competition after the county’s showmanship event was cancelled.

This year all Box Elder Jr. Livestock showmanship competitions were cancelled due to COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic concerns. Market shows were held August 24-28, and a virtual livestock auction replaced the traditional live in-person event.

The Box Elder “Not Fair” Goat Showmanship Show took place at the home of Cody and Tara Rhodes in Riverside.

“A big thank you to them for organizing this event,” supporters of the show stated.

The showmanship competition was judged by Maren Boyer, a student at Utah State University majoring in Agricultural Communication. Originally from Coaville, Maren has shown sheep and goats her entire life.
