GARLAND - By Ellen Cook, Headliner Media Specialist, May 6, 2022
There are laughs, along with musical hit after hit at the annual Garland Charity Playhouse. The popular event is back entertaining crowds after a two-year hiatus. Themed "Back to the 80's," this year's extravaganza features songs, stars and commercials of that decade, along with a few surprising twists.
The Playhouse has been an entertaining piece of Garland for 30 years, thanks to it creator, the late Janet Carter. The tradition not only brings music and theater to the community but gives back through yearly donations, to the tune of more than $300,000. This year's proceeds will go to help the Drama Department at Bear River High School.
Here are a few highlights of Friday night's performance. The fun continues on Saturday and again on Monday.
