The Box Elder County Fairgrounds was the site of the 8th annual Christmas Classic Jackpot Show for steers, market heifers and breeding heifers on Saturday, December 11. This show is one of the premier cattle shows in this part of the country.

This year the Winter exhibition was hosted by the Chris Beins family of Deweyville. Chris said attendance has grown with each show and this year more than 240 head of cattle were entered. Those exhibiting the livestock came from all over the West, including Montana, Idaho, Colorado, New Mexico, Wyoming, Nevada, and of course, right here in Utah. Judging was done by Chuck Lemenager of Fairbury, Illinois.
“We gave out over $10,000 in cash and prizes to kids from all over,” Chris said of the successful event, due in part, he added, to generous sponsors like Valley Wide Co-op, DL Evans Bank, Jennifer Stewart American Family Insurance, Earl Trucking, Valley Implement, Wooden Shoe Farms and Great Basin Graphics.
