It was wall to wall turkeys at the Utah Junior Turkey Processing Plant in Bothwell on Friday, November 12, as 4-H and FFA youth from all over Utah brought their prized poultry to be processed and judged as part of the annual Utah Junior Turkey Show.

Although hundreds of top turkey hopefuls were entered, 410 to be exact, only 62 made the final cut and will be part of the State Turkey Auction to be held on Saturday, November 13, at the Box Elder County Fairgrounds in Tremonton. The auction begins at 10 a.m., with the turkeys going to the highest bidders.

Extension agent Josh Dallin said Box Elder County youth will be holding their own auction of Thanksgiving birds on Tuesday, November 23, beginning at 6 p.m. This event will also be at the fairgrounds.

He invites the public to attend either auction and purchase a fresh fowl for the upcoming holiday, as well as support the local 4-H and FFA members.
