A short but powerful thunderstorm brought heavy rains, lightning and flooding to parts of the Bear River Valley on Wednesday afternoon. The National Weather Service warned of ping pong sized hailstones and 60 mph winds. Bothwell saw major flooding while lightning in the Park Valley area caused several fires.
At present crews from County Fire, Park Valley, Snowville, Garland, Thatcher-Penrose, Fielding and Corinne are ganging up on three fires - two in Devil’s Playground and one in the Dove Creek area.
