Each year an outstanding member of the GFWC Tremonton Women’s Civic League is chosen as Club Woman of The Year for their contributions to the club and community.

This year Tonya Woodruff was unanimously chosen. Tonya has been a member of the club for the past four years and has been sewing the club’s raffle quilts since she started. The quilts have contributed greatly to the club’s annual budget allowing for even more community projects to be financed.

The GFWC Tremonton Women’s Civic League has also been busy since April 2021 giving back to their community.

The club was part of a mission to help spread the word to get people out and active this spring by participating in Tremonton City’s annual Slothathon. The club sponsored a contest to see which local school could get the most students to sign up and participate. Fielding Elementary School was the winner of the contest. Principal Kristi Capener accepted a check for $200 that the school will use for new sports equipment.

Members of the GFWC Women's Civic League also helped in the children's section of the Tremonton City Library's 2021 Summer Kick-off Reading program. Children adopted a stuffed animal and were able to decorate their pet's leash with buttons and jewels. Children also signed pledges to read to their pet for 20 minutes a day. After finishing a book, they can write a review and return it to the library for a treat. The library will post all the reviews around the library so other children can read about the different books.
