Why have just two Headliner Athletes of Week when you can have 10 instead?! After all the exciting athletic accomplishments recently at Bear River High, BRVNEWS.com couldn’t pick just two student athletes to feature this week, so instead, we’re posting it Monday-Friday, May 24-28!


KEEGAN HADLEY

This week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com goes to Keegan Hadley for helping the Bear River High School boys’ water polo team bring home the state championship title on May 22, 2021.

The Bear River boys’ team beat the Spartans from Murray High School, 10-5, in the state championship finals held May 21-22, at Cottonwood Heights and Kearns.

Going into the state tournament, Keagan had seven goals for a total of 11 points. He also had four assists and three steals.

“Keegan had a great state tournament. It was his first year playing water polo and was selected to the first team all-state,” said Danny Esplin, Bear River High water polo coach.

Keegan is a senior at Bear River High and is the son of Shawn and Tiffanie Hadley.


AUBREE ROWLEY

Aubree Rowley is this week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com for her addition to the Bear River High School girls’ water polo team this season and for helping the team bring home the 2021 state championship title.

On Saturday, May 22, the Bear River High girls’ water polo team beat Brighton High School in the finals, 10-9. The two-day state tournament was held May 21-22, at the Cottonwood Heights Recreation Center and in Kearns at the Oquirrh Park Fitness Center.

“Aubree Rowley was a defensive powerhouse. She had to defend each team’s best player and was able to shut them down over and over again,” said Danny Esplin, coach of the Bear River High girls’ water polo team.

Heading into the state tournament, Aubree had seven goals,10 assists with 17 points and 16 steals as a center defender for the Lady Bears.

Aubree is a senior Bear River High School and is the daughter of Matt and Brandy Rowley of Tremonton.
