A Garland house caught on fire late July 4, and the aftermath of the damage shows to be extensive. John Hurley, BRVNEWS.com news photographer captured these photos the day after the blaze.
According to the Garland City Fire Department the house, located at 465 N. Main St., was undergoing a remodel. The full story posted earlier today can be found below.

Firefighters from Garland, Tremonton and Box Elder County didn’t get the chance to celebrate the 4th of July holiday with their families and instead went to work doing what they do best – putting out fires.
Fire departments responded to a house at 465 N. Main St., in Garland late Saturday, July 4, and spent over four hours putting out the blaze. Firefighters also closed 6000 W. from North Garland Main St. to 13600 N. intersection as they worked on controlling the fire.
According to BRVNEWS.com’s correspondent and news photography John Hurley, who was on the scene, bystanders told him fireworks may be to blame, however the Garland Fire Department has not confirmed that information. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
“A large firework package tipped over during display, landed on its side and shot various fireballs into and around the house,” Hurley said.

GARLAND CITY FIRE DEPARTMENT PRESS RELEASE - July 5, 2020
"At 2200 hours last night, Garland Fire, along with automatic mutual aid from Tremonton Fire, responded to a reported structure fire at 465 North Main Street. Smoke and flames could be seen from blocks away as the first arriving engine got on scene.
While crews were fighting this fire a report of a second structure fire came in. It was reported in the same area of the first one. Help from Central Box Elder Fire District and Box Elder County Fire was requested to assist with the unconfirmed second fire. In the moment of chaos and firefighting efforts crews then caught a report of a possible third structure fire on South Main Street. We were able to confirm there was no second or third fire.
Callers from miles away could see the smoke and flames from their place and believed it to be a new fire. Central Box Elder Fire District was then canceled as there was adequate resources on scene. Firefighters had a tough time gaining access to the attic, where a majority of the heat and smoke was. The home became unstable so interior crews were pulled from inside. The home was currently also being remodeled at the time.
Overall, firefighters remained on scene for 4.5 hours until fire control and loss stop was obtained. One firefighter and one civilian were treated for smoke inhalation and released on scene. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
