According to the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Department, shortly after 11:20 a.m. a 911 call was made to emergency dispatchers at the Box Elder Communications Center to report an individual with a gun, and shots fired, near 8000 N. in Elwood.

The report added that Head was “agitated with his girlfriend,” which led to a child making the 911 call.

“It was determined it was one of the children calling, that they were in a relatively safe location and Dispatch kept them on the line,” the report stated.

The woman and her children were unharmed in the incident.

Head was taken to a local hospital and cleared before being booked into the Box Elder County Jail in Brigham City.

The Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, Utah Highway Patrol and the Tremonton/Garland Police Department responded to the incident.
