NEWS - "Garland City Proposes Tax Increase"


GARLAND - July 22, 2022


Garland City is one of five taxing entities in Box Elder County proposing a property tax increase on residents and commercial property owners this year according to a Truth in Taxation notice that was posted on Box Elder County's website (link below).


The proposed tax increase shows that for residential homes in Garland City valued at $317,000, property taxes for the city will increase from $463.77 to $592.79 a year (a difference of $129.02). For commercial properties in Garland City, that increase will go from $843.22 to $1,077.80 a year (a difference of $234.58).


As required by state law, Garland City will hold a public hearing for this proposed tax increase on Wednesday, August 17, at 7 p.m. at the Garland City offices located at 72 N. Main St., Garland. Concerned citizens are invited to attend.
