GARLAND - August 13, 2021
A 30-year-old Garland man was arrested Thursday night following an assault on North Canal Bank Road and the details of the incident are still under active investigation.
According to a release from Chief Deputy Sheriff Dale Ward, law enforcement officers from the Sheriff’s Department, Tremonton-Garland Police and Utah Highway Patrol were called to a residence just outside the Garland City limits about 9 p.m., on a report of two males fighting. The fight involved a firearm.
Tremonton-Garland officers arrived at the scene first and were able to separate the men, locate the weapon and secure the scene. No shots were fired.
Although no cause for the fight has yet been determined, alcohol was a contributing factor, the report said, and one male, Steven Tyler Byram, was arrested and booked into the Box Elder County Jail on charges that include aggravated assault, intoxication and carrying a dangerous weapon while under the influence.
