NEWS - "Local businesses and individuals set to be honored by chamber"

This year’s annual Box Elder Chamber of Commerce awards banquet will continue the tradition of honoring local businesses and individuals in the community, while showing support and spotlighting the importance of shopping local.

Four businesses, all based in Box Elder County, will be recognized during the banquet on Jan. 24. Two of those honored businesses are in Tremonton.

Kent’s Market in Tremonton will receive the chamber’s Large Business of the Year award. The store’s director is Layne Julander.

The Grille/Bear River Bowling Center, owned by Chad and Karla Munns, will receive the Medium Business of the Year honor. They are also located in Tremonton.

Recognizing northern Box Elder County businesses doesn’t stop there.

This year Micah Capener, owner and broker of Capener Losee Real Estate in Tremonton, will be named Business Person of the Year.

Zach LeFevre, Tremonton City’s Events and Recreation Coordinator, will receive Board Member of the Year.

This year’s Box Elder Chamber of Commerce’s Total Citizen of the Year will go to Susan Poulsen for her work with Acts Six Soup Kitchen.

Ambassador of the Year for the chamber is Ross Stanton from Zions Bank.

This year’s Home-Based Business of the Year will go to Witt’s Water Works, owned by Keith Witt and Drewes Floral and Gift from Brigham City will receive the honor of Small Business of the Year. It is owned by Kelly and Danette Driscoll.

The Box Elder Chamber of Commerce annual awards banquet is scheduled for Friday, Jan. 24, at 6 p.m. at the Box Elder County fairgrounds in the fine arts building.
