ELWOOD - September 23, 2022
The driver of a motor home died in a single vehicle accident that occurred just before 1 p.m. on I-15 near Elwood on Friday, September 23.
According to Utah Highway Patrol, the motorhome was traveling northbound on I-15 in the area of mile marker 378 (just south of Tremonton) when it drifted off the road to the right and through a fence. The RV continued and hit some trees before going off an embankment before it came to rest.
The driver and a passenger, both from Washington State, were transported to the hospital where the driver was pronounced dead.
Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident and looking into whether or not the driver of the RV suffered a medical episode prior to the crash. The Tremonton Fire Department, the Tremonton Garland Police Department and UHP responded to the accident.
