A 23-year-old pregnant Brigham City woman escaped serious injury after the pickup truck she was driving was hit by a distracted driver on 1100 South in Brigham City, Wednesday morning, December 1.

According to Lt. Tony Ferderber with the Brigham City Police Department, the woman was traveling north on 775 West just after 8 a.m., when an SUV driven by a 24-year-old female from Logan ran a red light at the intersection, striking the pickup.

The impact caused the truck to roll onto its side. Brigham City fire and ambulance crews arrived on the scene and helped extricate the occupant.

The SUV driver was cited for a Red Light Violation and Distracted Driving. Ferderber said she was manipulating her phone at the time of the crash.
