BOX ELDER COUNTY - May 12, 2022


The Salt Creek Waterfowl Management Area conducted a one-day controlled burn on Wednesday, May 11, to help control phragmites and open up marsh understory of cattails and bullrush vegetation. The burn area, located north of the Box Elder County landfill, totaled 600 acres and was closely monitored by the Utah Fire Forestry and State Lands and Box Elder County Fire departments.
