TREMONTON - January 30, 2022

Two drivers were transported to Bear River Valley Hospital after their vehicles collided just after 6 p.m., at 1000 West Main in Tremonton on Sunday night, January 30.

According to Sgt. Andy Marchant with Tremonton Garland Police, the two vehicles, a pickup truck and a four-door Toyota delivering pizza both entered the intersection at the same time, the truck going north and south, and the Toyota headed east and west. Which vehicle entered on the red light is still under investigation.

The male driver lost consciousness several times at the scene and also complained of neck and back pain. The female driver had serious head trauma. LifeFlight was dispatched to the hospital but after both patients were assessed it was determined the medical helicopter would not transport.

Marchant said the collision caused one of the vehicles to strike the traffic control box off the side of the street. The intersection is now a four-way stop with flashing red lights so travelers in the area are asked to use caution. UDOT has been called to repair the damage.
