BOX ELDER COUNTY - By Ellen Cook, Headliner Media Specialist, October 31, 2021
Two residents of Nevada were flown to separate hospitals following a rollover on SR 30 near the Nevada/Utah border on Friday night, October 30.
According to Sgt. Arik Beesley of the Utah Highway Patrol, the driver of a GMC Acadia, a 51-year-old male, was near mile marker 8 and east of the Grouse Creek Junction just after 7 p.m., when he went off the road. The vehicle rolled two or three times, landing back on its wheels. Both the driver and his 88-year-old female passenger were injured. Grouse Creek ambulance responded, as did UHP and a Box Elder County Sheriff's deputy.
Because of the remoteness of the accident, two LifeFlight helicopters was called to the scene. The woman was flown to IMC and was treated for broken ribs and a broken pelvis. The driver, who was flown to another hospital, suffered a broken leg.
