BOTHWELL - September 1, 2021

At about 7:30 a.m., on Wednesday, Sept. 1, Box Elder County Sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an abandoned vehicle in an irrigation ditch in the Bothwell area. Investigation determined the vehicle had been stolen earlier that morning in Bothwell.
Near that same location, a second vehicle, a Volkswagen Atlas SUV was also discovered missing. It is grey in color with the license plate 7G8DC (In God We Trust plate).
Deputies are actively working this case and believe the thefts occurred around 4:30 a.m. It is also known that at least a few vehicles were burglarized.
The Sheriff's Office is asking that anyone who may have seen anything suspicious or believes their vehicle may have been tampered with call Dispatch at 435-723-6890 and request a deputy respond to investigate.
In addition, anyone who may have video cameras, Ring doorbells, etc., is asked to check for any suspicious activity from those early hours and share that information with officers.
Tremonton and Garland saw a rash of similar thefts and burglaries around August 13, and Honeyville was targeted on August 26.
Part of the ongoing investigation is trying to determine if the incidences are related, according to Chief Deputy Sheriff Dale Ward.
