In February 2021, students at Garland Elementary School participated in the Great Kindness Challenge Week while working on a new Guinness World Record - along with 701 other schools across the country. It took more than eight months, but students at those 702 schools were able to make a paper chain that beat the previous record.

Overall, the paper chain spanned 18 miles - good enough for the new Guinness World Record! The paper chain was completed in November 2021.
