The Bear River High School wrestling teams hosted a top 3A wrestling program from Morgan High School on Tuesday, November 23. The match provided a good measuring stick to determine where the Bears are in early this season.

The Bear River High girls’ varsity team had a great showing winning their dual 36-6 in the seven matches. Morgan High brought seven wrestlers and provided some good matches. All seven matches ended in a fall with the Lady Bears coming out on top in six of the matches.

The following wrestlers won by fall, Skylynn Thompsen (115), Bella Gunderson (120), Sophie Miller (124), Hailey Branch (128), Josie Redman (128) and Rhees Hatch (150). Four wrestlers from Morgan High were also willing to wrestle twice to give the team some needed matches. The Bears came out on top in three of the four matches with Kate Bunce (120), Samara Ward (124) and Emma Peterson (140) all winning by fall.

The Bear River High boys’ varsity team fell to the Trojans by a score of 42-33. The match was close with many that could have gone either way. Four Bears were able to win by fall that night and included Kaden Ward (113), Max Miller (120), Tyson Hirschi (138) and Kwade Kosoff (175). Dustyn Deakin was unopposed at 126 adding an additional six points. Zach Gunderson (150) was able to win by decision, 9-4.
