Not only did Bear River High School sophomore Ryker Bennett shot a hole-in-one for the boys’ golf team this week, as a team the Bears took first overall and senior Dylan Christensen (70) came in first individually in a region tournament.

Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield the was site of the boys’ golf tournament on Monday, Sept. 14. Hosting the tournament was Sky View High School but it was the Bears that dominated the golf course that day.
Bear River (305) ousted Ridgeline High School (307) by two strokes to capture first place. Green Canyon High School (320), Logan High School (328), Sky View High (332) and Mountain Crest High School (371) rounded out the team scores.
Senior Jarett Giles golfed a 75 for the Bears tying with Bennett for third place. Senior Marcus Callister finished out the varsity tournament with an 85.
Bennett’s hole-in-one occurred on Hole 7 at Birch Creek Golf Course, a 188-yard shot using a 6 iron.

Next up for Bear River boys’ golf is a trip to Logan Country Club, Ridgeline High’s home tournament on Monday, Sept. 21, at 1 p.m.
