SPORTS - "Boys' Lacrosse Split First Two Games of the Season"

The Bear River High boys' lacrosse team started their 2023 season with a home game against Waterford High on March 15. It was a battle throughout and the game needed an overtime period to decide the winner. The Bears outlasted the Ravens in overtime as they secured the victory, 7-6.


The Bears were led offensively by senior Myles Nielson who scored three goals and assisted on another. Defensively, senior Fierce Miller led the Bears with nine ground balls and two take aways.

On March 17, the Bears visited Wasatch High in Heber City. It was another close game for the Bears. Bear River led 3-2 after the first quarter. At halftime the score was tied, 6-6. The Bears again regained the lead and the third quarter ended, 7-6, in favor of Bear River. Wasatch's offense found their rhythm in the fourth quarter and pulled away, beating the Bears by a final score of, 12-7.

The Bears traveled to Bonneville High on March 21, and will host cross-county rivals, Box Elder High, on March 24, at 7 p.m. at Bear Stadium.
