LOGAN – September 14, 2020
Bear River High School senior, and golf sensation Jarett Giles, took first place last week as the boys’ golf team traveled to Logan River Golf Course for a Region 11 tournament on Thursday, Sept. 14.
Giles golfed a 73 – good enough for the top spot that day in varsity play.

"There's no doubt why Jug (Jarett) is number one on the team and in region. He is consistently working on his game and it shows," said Bear River High's head boys' golf coach Devin Kidman.
"He's a great example for the underclassmen of what can be accomplished if you work hard enough," Kidman added.
The Bears took third overall as a team (318) with Ridgeline High (311) and Logan High (316) taking first and second place. Green Canyon High (321), Sky View High (322) and Mountain Crest High (340) rounded out the region tournament.
Bear River High seniors Dalton Jones and Marcus Callister tied for 11th place that day (80) with Padin Hartfiel rounding out the pack for the Bears shooting an 85 at Logan River Golf Course.
Next up for the Bear River High boys’ golf team is Sky View High’s home meet at Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield on Monday, Sept. 14.
