Jarett Giles, a senior at Bear River High School, took home the Region 11 boys’ golf title - his first region title in his high school career on the golf course.

The two-day Region 11 championship started on Monday, Sept. 28, at Glen Eagle Golf Course in Syracuse. As a team the Bears finished the first day of competition in third place (303 points), trailing Ridgeline High School and Green Canyon High School.

Individually that day, Giles golfed a 71, Dalton Jones finished the day with a 74, Ryker Bennett had a 78 and Dylan Christensen with 80.

The final day of competition took place at Hill Air Force Base in Layton on Tuesday, Sept. 29, where the Bears sealed the deal for a second- place overall finish in Region 11 with 322 points. Ridgeline High took first in region.

Giles golfed a 76, and combined with the previous day’s score, it was enough to earn the region title.
