In the Bear River High School girls’ lacrosse team’s first game of the season, they came out strong defeating Payson High School 13-2 on March 11, 2021.

The Lady Bears hosted Payson High at Sally Bo Field in Garland where sophomore Marley Kierstead scored seven of the Bears’ 13 goals that day. Junior Hailey Larsen at goal saved seven of the nine shots fired at her during the game.

“We had a few standouts that come to mind, but the total team effort is what really stands out. In the first game of the season, you expect some hiccups, especially with a young team. When you have a hand full of girls that have never played before, and may never fill up a stat sheet, without their relentless pursuit of the ball, and pulling the team first over their own glory, we wouldn’t be where we are. Great job, Lady Bears,” said Bear River High girls’ lacrosse coach Jeremy Webb.

“Simply amazing,” Webb added.

Up next for the Lady Bears’ lacrosse team is a home game against Bonneville High School on Tuesday, March 16 at 5 p.m. They will travel to Springville High School on Thursday, March 18.
