BEAR RIVER HIGH - By Cari Doutre, Headliner Publisher, April 13, 2022
It was a low scoring affair between the Bear River High and Springville High softball teams on April 8, when the Lady Bears hosted their first varsity home game of the season. Field upgrades and construction delayed the team from hosting home games earlier in the season, but the Lady Bears returned to their home field ready to dominate. And that they did.
Last Friday's matchup between Bear River and Springville ended in a 3-0 win for the Bears with junior Kate Dahle in the pitcher's circle for the win. Dahle struck out six and gave up just two hits to the Red Devils.
The Lady Bears put three runs on the scoreboard in the third inning. Senior Kynlei Nelson led the team with a double and two RBIs while Dahle and senior Carlee Miller each had a hit of their own.

Following up the win, Bear River hosted Green Canyon High on April 12, for a quick 12-0 win for the Bears. Zoe Sorensen went 2-for-3 with three RBIs and a double. Senior Haylee Farnsworth also went 2-for-3 with a double and an RBI.
Dahle gave up just one hit and struck out 15 for the Lady Bears.
