The week between Christmas and New Year’s Day wasn’t without rest for the Bear River High School girls’ basketball team as they took on two teams over two days in non-region play.

Starting with Uintah High School on Tuesday, Dec. 29, the Lady Bears began the week with a win over the Utes, 52-46, on their home court.

Following up that win with another, this time over Orem High School on Dec. 30, the Bears beat the Tigers 53-36. Home court advantage worked again for the Lady Bears leading 26-20 at the half. A strong performance offensively and defensively in the fourth quarter put 18 more points on the scoreboard for the Bears while holding the Tigers to just four points and it was enough to solidify the win.

Up next for Bear River girls’ basketball is another home game against Kerns High School on Tuesday, Jan. 5, starting at 7 p.m.

Quick reminder, due to COVID-19 guidelines and restrictions, the Utah High School Activities Association will only permit two-family members per player at live games. Other spectators, including students, will not be permitted.
