TREMONTON - By Cari Doutre - August 23, 2021
Skyway Golf and Country Club has crowned their 2021 Club Champions after two weekends of competition on the golf course in Tremonton.
Tayler Bohman earned the 2021 Ladies Club Championship title finishing the two-day tournament, August 14-15, with a total score of 167. Bohman shot an 85 on Saturday and an 82 on Sunday. Kelsie Arbon also took 1st net with scores of 56 and 65, net.
The following weekend, August 21-22, it was time for the Men's Club Championship tournament except this time around Mother Nature had other plans. Severe thunderstorms on Saturday forced golfers to end the day early and to finish the following day, thus making Sunday's competition much longer than expected.
While Saturday's weather made for an interesting day on the golf course, Sunday's action on the golf course made for an exciting day. Sunday's final flight of the day ended in a two-way tie for first place between Trevor Arbon (71, 68) and Nate Sorensen (70, 69), the winner was determined by a one-hole golf playoff.
On hole #6, and with daylight quickly fading, Arbon and Sorensen golfed the green by the light of cell phones from those in attendance. In the end it was Arbon that won the final play off shooting a four for the 2021 Men's Club Championship title.
This year's 2021 Senior Club Championship title went to Shawn Sessions.
