Updated: Jan 24, 2020

BEAR RIVER HIGH – By Cari Doutre – Jan. 24, 2020

A perfect score in high school wrestling is 84 points. That’s 14 consecutive pins in one dual. The Bear River wrestling team scored 82 points in a shutout win over Logan High on Thursday, Jan. 23, despite resting several varsity wrestlers.

As impressive as it sounds (because it really is), the Bears technically had seven pins, one major decision (10-1) and six forfeits from the Grizzlies.

It’s still one for the record books, and a night of wrestling these wrestlers will never forget. It was also one of the shortest dual meets they've ever competed in.

Individual Bear River wins:

Max Miller (106) Fall 5:14
Tyson Hirschi (113) MD 10-1
River Smith (120) Forfeit
