"Headliner Athletes of the Week" - April 6-12, 2020



Carter Christensen

Carter, a four-year member of the Bear River High boys’ tennis team is a two-year varsity starter at first singles.

“This year Carter did a nice job of breaking down his inconsistencies to bring improvement and keep the ball in play. This led to winning his challenges to earn number 1 singles,” said Coach Ken Oxborrow.

“He also played more confidently in the Clearfield match. On the singles court developing mental toughness is a must for long term growth and that's exactly what Carter did,” Oxborrow added.

Carter is a senior at Bear River High School and is the son of Justan and Stephanie Iverson of Tremonton.


Kassidy Johnson

Kassidy, is a three-year member of the Bear River High girls’ lacrosse team and has been with the team from the very beginning.

“Kassidy has played all three years and has helped lead her team to many wins. Kassidy is a two-time team voted captain and is one of the best two-way position players on the team. Kassidy has the ability to play lacrosse at the next level if she chooses to,” said Coach Jeremy Webb.

“This year has not gone quite as anyone would have planned. Kassidy, as well as the rest of the team, have made the most of it through daily practice challenges as well as sending out words of encouragement to each other. Kassidy good luck in your future endeavors - you will truly be missed,” Webb added.

Kassidy is at senior at Bear River High School and is the daughter of Rob and Liz Johnson of Garland.
