BREAKING NEWS – “Body found at a west Corinne hot spring”

BOX ELDER COUNTY – June 24, 2021


The body of a 75-year-old man from North Ogden was discovered Thursday, June 24, 2021, at approximately 11:45 a.m. at a popular hot spring in west Corinne in Box Elder County.

According to the Box Elder County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were dispatched to Stinky Springs after receiving a report that a male individual in the water was unresponsive. Upon arrival emergency medical responders determined that Nolberto Barboza, 75, was deceased.

Investigation efforts from BESO found that Barboza frequented the hot spring for self-treatment of leg pain. The body was transported to the Utah State Medical Examiner’s Office to determine cause of death.

The Box Elder Sheriff’s Office added that there is no sign of foul play in the death of Barboza and that the case is still under investigation.
