This week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com goes to Carisa Epling for her addition to the Bear River High girls’ wrestling team this season.
“Carisa is one of the girls that has soaked up all the information we have told her. She never complains, has a great attitude and she is a goer. She is a machine on the mat and we’re expecting great things from her this year,” said Jason Bingham, head coach of the Bear River High girls’ wrestling team.
“She is one of those girls who talks the talk and walks the walk,” he added about Carisa’s work ethic.
Carisa recently took fourth place at the Lady Hawk Rumble on Saturday, Jan. 23, at Ridgeline High School in the 108-pound weight division.
Carisa is a senior at Bear River High and is the daughter of Robert and ChrisDean Epling of Tremonton.
CAEL WILCOX
Cael Wilcox, a four-year member of the Bear River High School boys’ wrestling team, is this week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com
Cael took first place at the High Country Classic wrestling tournament on Saturday, Jan. 23, at South Summit High School in the 170-pound weight division. He also took first place at the Syracuse Scuffle earlier this month, This season Cael has placed in the top three at several tough tournaments including the L.I.T. Wrestling Tournament in Layton and the Richardson Memorial and is undefeated in Region 11 action this year.
Cael is a senior at Bear River High and is the son of Gene and Shelley Wilcox of Tremonton.
