Updated: May 19, 2021

BEAR RIVER HIGH – May 19, 2021

Corbin Kierstead and Bentley Lorimer are this week’s featured Headliner Athletes of the Week at BRVNEWS.com - sponsored by Chanshare Farms. Thank you for supporting local journalism and high school sports in the Bear River Valley!

CORBIN KIERSTEAD

This week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com is Corbin Kierstead, a senior at Bear River High School and a member of the Bear River High boys’ lacrosse team.

Corbin currently has the best defensive stats in Region 11 boys’ lacrosse putting him in the number one spot in 4A state in his position – Long Stick Middie. He also has the most defensive goals for the Bears so far this year.

“Corbin is a great player and team leader. He was recently selected 1st Team All-Region and is currently a candidate for All-American,” said Coj Miller, head coach for the Bear River High boys’ lacrosse team.

“He was one of the three founding members of Bear River Lacrosse in 2018 and has been instrumental in building the program,” Miller added.

Corbin is the son of Colt and Stefanie Kierstead of Tremonton.

BENTLEY LORIMER

Bentley Lorimer is this week’s featured Headliner Athlete of the Week at BRVNEWS.com for her contribution so far this season for the Region 11 champions in girls’ lacrosse this year - Bear River High School.

She is currently ranked 2nd at the 4A state level for most ground balls and ranked 8th nationally. Bentley has also scored 18 goals for the Lady Bears’ varsity lacrosse team this year.

“Bentley is a hard worker that learned and became a leader in lacrosse in less than one season. She went from never touching a stick to being a concrete corner of the team. She is dedicated to becoming better and being a better player for her team,” said Colt Kierstead, Bear River High School girls’ lacrosse assistant coach.

“She’s always concerned with being her best for the team and not for herself. Bentley is quietly tough as nails and one of the toughest players I’ve coached,” he added.

Bentley is a sophomore at Bear River High and is the daughter of Lee and Sharon Lorimer.
