NEWS - "Embers from backyard fire pit spread to Tremonton home"

Firefighters from both Tremonton and Garland Fire Departments responded to a structure fire in Tremonton near 900 W. 110 S. in the early morning hours of June 6.

Dispatchers received a call just after 2 a.m. from a resident reporting a fire that spread to the attic and roof. Steve Batis, Tremonton Fire Chief, reported that embers from a backyard fire pit weren’t completely out when heavy winds throughout the night spread those embers to the home.

Batis added that no injuries were reported and that all individuals inside the home at the time of the fire got out safely. He added that the roof of the home will need to be replaced from the fire damage.
