Two weeks into the start of the 2021 fall season, the Bear River High School boys' golf team has yet to find their ground on the golf course.
On August 23, the Bears hosted their only home tournament of the season at Skyway Golf and Country Club in Tremonton where they honored their two seniors, Padin Hartfiel and Kyler Christensen.
As a team the Bears finished in 5th place (350) with Green Canyon High (307), Ridgeline High (321), Sky View High (327) and Logan High (334) took the top four spots in this Region 11 tournament.
Junior Ryker Bennett tied for 4th place individually (77), Hartfiel took 9th (80) and freshman Maverick Sorenson (95) and junior Denver Reese (98) finished out the top four spots for the Bears.
The first day of school on Monday, August 30, also meant a trip to Birch Creek Golf Course for Green Canyon's home tournament. The Bears claimed the 5th overall spot for the second week in a row. Bennett tied for 6th place individually (76) and Hartfield also tied for 9th place (78), while Reese (94) and Sorenson (99) finished out the tournament for the Bears.
Up next for the Bear River High boys' golf team is another trip to Birch Creek Golf Course in Smithfield for Sky View High's home tournament on Tuesday, Sept. 7.
