It was a bit of a family affair on Wednesday morning during the Young Guns Days of ’47 rodeo in South Jordan, as three cousins rode into the Salt Lake Equestrian Park.

East Garland resident, Kayllee Sorensen, daughter of Will and Richelle Sorensen and a student at Bear River Middle School, took the barrels at top speed on her horse, Crosby, to win first-place honors in the 13 and under category. Her younger sister, Allie, was right on her heels, ending up in second place. Allie is a 7th grader at Alice C. Harris Intermediate.

Not to be outdone, cousin Ridge Stark, a fifth grader at Garland Elementary and the son of Tyrel and Darci Stark ended up with a third-place finish in the breakaway roping event.

Watch for these young horsemen to shine bright in future rodeos!
