An exciting non-region basketball game against the Bear River High School girls’ varsity team and Kearns High School on Tuesday, Jan. 6, 2021, quickly became a nail-biting fourth quarter for everyone.

As the Lady Bears entered the fourth quarter down six points, a shift in momentum occurred after an aggressive comeback from Bear River on the court. It was enough to end the fourth quarter tied 42-42.

In overtime with four minutes on the clock, the Bears came back stronger than ever scoring six points over Kearn’s three points on the scoreboard for the 48-45 win.

Bear River High senior Olivia Taylor scored 23 points and 11 rebounds. Junior Lyza Pebley had nine rebounds that night and Ella Goldman scored nine points for the Bears.

After the adrenaline of the Kearns game wore off, and a few days off from competitive play, the Bears hosted Sugar-Salem High School (Sugar, Idaho), for a tough 60-28 loss.

Bear River Live livestreamed both games and can be watched at:

Up next for the Bears is the start of Region 11 play as they travel to Sky View High School in Smithfield where they face the Bobcats on Thursday, Jan. 14.
